Hall Passes for Small Schools -- Instant Notification
At Paloma Creek High School (a school with eighty students) it is vital that the staff have clear and constant communication tools. In this presentation, you will be taught how to create a Google Form and implement a script that allows all staff members on your campus to be instantly alerted when a student leaves class. At Paloma Creek High School, we use this type of form for two reasons: Students complete a form for a Hall Pass, and teachers complete a form when they have a student concern or need to send a student to another location.

Nurtured Heart Approach
The Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA) is used by parents, educators, and mental health professionals for developing positive relationships with students.  It supports adults in relating to children in ways that guide them to use their intensity successfully and positively.  If you want to learn an effective way to work with students in alternative education, this is the workshop for you.   Come see how Yosemite High School uses the NHA to a make positive impact on some of their most intense students in the classroom and in the counseling setting.  Through this workshop,  you will learn: 1) basic stands of the NHA,  2) the impact of this approach at Yosemite High School, 3) strategies to shift negative energy in your students into positive energy, and  4) ways to empower students to recognize their own greatness.
