Are You Drowning in a Sea of Discipline Referrals?
Why waste precious instructional energy?  Why send students to the Principal's office when you can refocus their energy back to the task at hand?  You can solve problems without transferring your authority or losing your dignity. You will learn how to respond using the Student Mood Assessment and Rapid Response Technique strategies (SMARRT). It is possible to stop low-level misbehavior in its tracks before it escalates using strategies such as diffusers and teach-tos.  In this session, you will be able to practice these strategies so that you can easily implement them in your classroom and see immediate results. The beauty of the SMARRT technique is that your instruction will continue with little interruption of precious instructional time. You WILL have time to teach and they WILL have the opportunity to learn.

Do you need easy, workable strategies that help you bond with your students, take back time to spend on the curriculum and provide structure and support? This workshop shares research-based, classroom-proven, game-changing approaches to help you manage your classroom compassionately, skillfully and effectively, and also teaches highly successful strategies that lead to dramatic improvements in academic achievement and test scores in Literacy and across the entire curriculum because of: increased student engagement; increased attendance and decreased suspension rates; large drops in office referrals; up to 90% drop in student behavior problems; more time for quality instruction because discipline issues are controlled; increased teacher satisfaction and productivity.
