In 1993, The United States Congress determined that the Drop-Out rate is a domestic crisis.  For any domestic crisis (i.e. Wild fire, flood, earthquake, etc), The National Guard is there.  So, who better to call in when we are losing 1.2 million students every year?  The National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program is a 22-week, Residential, Quasi-Military, Credit Recovery Program serving ALL of California.  Our mission is to intervene in and reclaim the lives of 16-18 year old "High School Dropouts", and students who are not on track to graduate on time/ at all because of multiple risk factors.  Our goal is to be a resource for ALL of the continuation schools in California. The Academy is completely voluntary and there is zero enlistment requirement.  The program is completely free (worth $22k per student).
