CCEA 2019 Conference "Moving into the Future Together"

Local control accountability plans address academic data, as well as school climate concerns that include absenteeism, behavioral interventions, and designated student populations. Mental health challenges can undermine success. Much of the talk about educational solutions is framed as Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. Our workshop presents how all of these challenges and proposed answers must be considered together in an integrated approach we call our Pyramid Scheme. Participants will (1) learn about why a Multi-tiered SYSTEM of Support must provide an integrated approach to attendance, behavioral interventions and supports, and mental health.   (2) learn how each of these integrated elements area can be addressed in Tier 1 Prevention, Tier 2 Early Identification and Response, and Tier 3 Intensive Interventions;  (3) Learn about team approaches, including Student Support Teams and School Attendance Review Boards that integrate all of these elements. As time allows, participants will discuss in small groups amongst themselves how to implement MTSS Pyramid Schemes.
