In this workshop, we look at the brain, how we are wired to respond to danger (trauma). We go the next step: now that we understand behavior better after looking at the neuroscience, what can we do? How do we help ourselves and our students? How do we implement low-cost policies in our classrooms and schools that will help us with challenging behavior and disengagement? How do we make ourselves more patient and less frustrated at work? In this workshop, we will have tangible ideas you can implement your next day at work. This workshop is for anyone who works in education.

In alternative education, we encounter many students with challenging behavior. But what is going on in the brain of a “misbehaving” child? And how do we approach behavior in a way that will create meaningful and lasting changes in the child?
